Last May 1990, Sisters from the Religious of the Sacred Heart (RSCJ) visited the ERD office, to ask their concerns of the effects on the environment of river dredging activities by poor communities in Montalban. Dredging is a means of livelihood in the area. They are willing to support these dredging activities unless it would  help develop the livelihood of the people and maintain the environment.
