ESSC seeks to explore the PES mechanism in its various forms to mobilize financial resources for integrated and sustainable watershed management as financial support in most government programs is not easily available and accessible for communities and local governments. Workable PES mechanisms must ensure that communities who take action for watershed care and management are appropriately compensated and support their local development and livelihood needs.
