Earth Day Network Philippines, Inc (EDNPI) launches the Gift-of-Trees (GOT), a unique Christmas present where one can adopt and grow a tree in honor of a gift recipient and accompanied by a GOT Christmas card made out of recycled board, paper, twigs, ropes, and fish scales.
The names of the giver and the recipient are written in the Christmas card and the tree adoption recorded in the official registry of adopted trees in ENDPI's project sites. The indigenous tree species to choose from are: apitong (Dipterocarpus grandiflorus), tanguile (Shorea polysperma), white lauan (Shorea contorta), palosapis (Anisoptera thurifera), kamagong (Diospyros blancoi), and narra (Pterocarpus indicus).
The Christmas cards are available at EDNPI's office at PhP 250.00 each and will cover the cost of the Christmas card, the propagation of the chosen native forest tree seedling, and the planting, care and maintenance of the seedling in the selected project site. Giving the GOT Christmas cards this Yuletide season is a great way to contribute in helping protect the environment and promoting social action that helps improve the lives of the communities who will benefit from this project.
