ALP students shown how to do weeding in abaca areas, Bendum.61. The human experience in Bendum

Last April, Sitio Bendum was the busiest I've ever seen it. While I have had the privilege of being in Bendum during Tapok, the indigenous youth gathering for peace, this was definitely my first experience of Bendum hosting an international group, the students of the Asia Leaders Program (ALP) of the University for Peace.

FAO Policy Brief 07FAO forestry policy briefs released

Policy briefs resulting from the second Asia-Pacific Forestry Sector Outlook Study (APFSOS II) highlight concerns with biodiversity loss in the region, a need for improved governance and better forest management at the field level, and a call for enhanced training and awareness of forestry issues. APFSOS II was issued by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO).
